Perform a variety of Service Desk duties.

A fantastic career opportunity has arisen for a Service Desk Engineer to join a well established IT Company based in the Cape Town Area.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Acceptance of Helpdesk calls on CA Unicenter.
  • Provide first line support when appropriate.
  • Allocation of calls to onsite engineers.
  • Regular follow up on call progress.
  • Communication to the client on outstanding critical incidents.
  • Regular updates of call details on CA Unicenter.
  • Maintain client's telephone database - create/delete/amend records daily.
  • Management of 3rd party vendors.
  • SLA Management.
Educational Requirements:

  • Must be IT literate, i.e. understand IT terminology (ITIL Foundation course advantageous).
  • Working experience in a helpdesk environment would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of or more of the following disciplines: Networking-, Active Directory-, Infrastructure Security-, Client Contact Center- and Telephony services.
  • Knowledge of the CA Unicenter helpdesk systems would be advantageous.
Personal Attributes:
  • Must have good communication skills.
  • Must be able to work independently - guidance will be provided.
  • Attention to detail is essential.
  • Must be passionate about service.
  • Must be a fast learner.
